LAKKI MARWAT: A fierce gun battle in Kot Kashmir on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of three terrorists, including a key militant commander, while a police constable was martyred in the line of duty. The clash occurred after intelligence reports indicated a group of militants was moving from Gundi towards Kot Kashmir.
Upon intercepting the militants, a heavy exchange of fire ensued. One terrorist was killed immediately, while two others retreated into a nearby house, using women and children as human shields. Police managed to surround the house, evacuating the trapped civilians and continuing the fight, which lasted for two hours. The remaining terrorists were eventually killed.
During the crossfire, Police Constable Shahidullah Gundi Khankhel was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the District Headquarters Hospital. The police have confirmed his martyrdom in the statement. The slain terrorists included Commander Chhota Waseem Gundi Khankhel, a prominent local militant figure.
