George Clooney has been known for his signature silver hair, but recently, the Hollywood star made a striking change by dyeing his hair a dark brown for his role as Edward R. Murrow in the stage adaptation of Good Night, and Good Luck. However, the reaction from his family, especially wife Amal and their twin children, has been less than enthusiastic.
Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday, George, 63, revealed that Amal, 46, is more than ready for him to ditch the new look. “She’ll be glad to see it gone,” George laughed, adding that his makeover has become a source of amusement rather than admiration.
In a previous interview with CBS Mornings in April, George candidly admitted, “I know it’s not good,” referring to the temporary transformation. “You never get used to it. It’s not my favourite look, and my wife—she thinks it’s funny.”

Even their seven-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, had their say on the new hair. “Nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair,” George joked. “My kids saw me and just started laughing. They think it’s hilarious.”
Despite the lack of approval at home, George is receiving praise for his performance in the Broadway production, which opened at New York’s Winter Garden Theatre on April 3. “It’s intense, immediate—and every night is a new challenge,” George said, emphasizing the difference of performing live on stage compared to film.

Although Amal couldn’t attend opening night, George explained that their family priorities come first. “She had to stay back with the kids,” he said, acknowledging their family-oriented approach. “We trade off. That’s just how we work.”
With George performing in the evenings, the family dynamic is working out well, as it allows George to spend the day with his children. “Actually, a play is kind of a good schedule because you’re working at night,” he explained during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this year.
The couple’s twins have been enjoying their time in Manhattan, with George adding, “They love exploring the city. Come on, how do you not love this? It’s New York City!”
