Imran Khan appoints Aliya Hamza as head of PTI Punjab political committee

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has expressed strong objections to the initial formation of the party’s four-member Punjab political committee. He directed party leaders to reissue the notification, appointing MNA Aliya Hamza as the committee’s head.

Imran conveyed his decision through Senator Ali Zafar, instructing the leadership to ensure Aliya Hamza’s leadership role and to inform senior party member Firdous Shamim Naqvi accordingly.

The original committee included Salman Akram Raja, Omar Ayub, Ahmed Khan Bachar, and Usman Akram, but lacked Aliya Hamza as head, prompting Khan’s dissatisfaction.

Senator Ali Zafar, along with lawyer Faisal Chaudhry and Aliya’s legal counsel, confirmed the development during an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail.
