Contractors allege corruption in KMC’s development project tenders

KARACHI: The Progressive Contractors Association has accused the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) of widespread corruption in the awarding of tenders for development projects. At a press conference on Tuesday, contractors claimed that bids worth over Rs16 billion were rigged, with favored contractors awarded tenders while lower bids were ignored. The group has called on Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani to address the issue and take action against the officials involved, including DG Technical Tariq Mughal and Executive Officer Feroz Hassan, who are allegedly complicit in these irregularities.
