A 25-year-old woman, Saba, has died from gunshot wounds inflicted by her husband, Shabbir Chhachhi Araeen, in Sarfaraz Colony. On Saturday, Shabbir allegedly broke into his in-laws’ house and shot both Saba and her mother, Shakeela, with a silencer-fitted pistol before fleeing with an accomplice.
Saba was struck by six bullets, including one to the head and three to the chest, while Shakeela sustained two shots to the abdomen and chest. Saba had filed for divorce after years of domestic abuse, with threats from Shabbir prior to the attack. Police have arrested Shabbir’s brother and are conducting raids to capture the primary suspect.
