CM Maryam, Finnish envoy agree on high-level exchanges to bolster mutual ties

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met Ambassador of Finland Hannu Ripatti in which matters pertaining to bilateral relations, educational cooperation, trade and other affairs were discussed.

During the meeting, both sides expressed the shared commitment to deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Finland. Chief Minister Maryam praised Finland’s advancements in education and technology, highlighting the need to foster collaboration in these areas.

“The expertise of Finland in education, technology, and environmental sustainability is admirable and worth emulating,” she stated.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of high-level exchanges to further bolster diplomatic relations. Maryam Nawaz welcomed the reopening of the Finnish Embassy in Islamabad, calling it a positive step toward enhanced bilateral engagement.

She noted that Pakistan-Finland relations are rooted in shared values of democracy, sustainable development, innovation, and mutual respect.

“Finland’s expertise in education, technology and environmental protection is worth emulating”, the CM emphasized, adding that Pakistani community living in Finland is playing a positive role in the progress and development of Pakistan and Finland.”

She highlighted, “The collaboration between Pakistan and Finland on ‘International Vocational Training’ is an important milestone.” She added, “Peaceful coexistence and mutual respect are an integral part of our shared values. There are numerous opportunities available for Finland in various sectors of Punjab such as renewable energy, agricultural technology, digital services and education.”

CM Congratulates Christian Community on Election of new Pope

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated the Christian community on the election of American-born Cardinal Robert Prevost as the new Pope. She expressed her best wishes for Cardinal Pope Robert Prevost, saying “Hopefully, Cardinal Pope Robert Prevost will carry forward the noble mission of connecting the world in a relationship of love and tolerance.”
