Judicial reshuffle impacts Imran Khan’s high-profile corruption case

RAWALPINDI: In a significant development, the judge presiding over the 190 million pound corruption reference against PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi at Accountability Court No. 1 has been replaced.

District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana has been appointed to the position, succeeding Judge Muhammad Ali Waraich who previously handled the case in Adiala Jail. Waraich, meanwhile, has been given the additional responsibility of presiding over Accountability Court No. 1.

Furthermore, Judge Abida Sajjad, a grade 20 judge, has taken over responsibilities at Accountability Court No. 3.

These judicial appointments were formalized through a notification issued by the Ministry of Law, following recommendations from the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court for several judicial nominations.
