10-member Sindh, nine-member KP caretaker cabinets sworn in

KARACHI/PESHAWAR: The governors of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday administered oath to newly-appointed 10-member and nine-member caretaker cabinets of both the provinces at Governor’s Houses in the respective provincial capitals.

Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar has already been sworn-in as interim Chief Minister of Sindh while Azam Khan has been performing as Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since dissolution of the Provincial Assembly by the PTI’s Chief Minister Mahmood Khan from January 21, 2023.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Saturday administered oath to newly appointed 10-member caretaker cabinet of Chief Minister (CM) Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar.

The oath-taking ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran at Governor House in Karachi, which was also attended by caretaker CM Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Secretary issued a notification of 10-member cabinet, stating that the Governor appointed the provincial ministers following an advice from caretaker CM.

The caretaker Sindh cabinet members include: Dr Saad Khalid Niaz, Ms Rana Hussain, Dr Junaid Shah, Brigadier (retd) Haris Nawaz, Mubeen Jumani, Younus Dagha, Ishwar Lal, Arshad Wali Muhammad, Omar Soomoro and Khuda Bux Marri.

Khyber Pakhutnkhwa caretaker cabinet

On the other hand, the nine members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker cabinet took oath of their offices on Saturday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali administered the oath.

Their names are: Syed Mahsood Shah, Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakheil, Justice (retired) Irshad Qaisar, Ahmad Rasool Bangash, Asif Rafiq, Dr Najeeb Ullah, Dr Muhammad Qasim, Justice (retired) Arshad Hussain Shah and Syed Aamir Abdullah. Portfolios of the ministers will be announced later.

On this occasion, KP’s Governor Haji Ghulam Ali congratulated members of the caretaker cabinet and hoped they will utilize their energies for the development and prosperity of the province.
