Peshawar trader’s house damaged in grenade attack

PESHAWAR: The house of a local trader was partially damaged in a grenade attack on Friday.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Hayatabad police station.
“There was no loss of life in the attack. However, the house was partially damaged,” police said.
“The accused escaped after hurling a grenade at the house. Further investigations are underway,” they added.
Meanwhile, the police arrested five culprits besides recovering cache of arms and narcotics during search and strike operations in different areas of Hangu on Friday.
DSP City Amjad Hussain and SHO City police station Fiaz Khan said that in line with the directives of DPO Asif Bahadur to ensure peace during holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram, search and strikes operations were conducted against outlaws in different areas of city police station jurisdiction.
They said that during these operations, five culprits were held with two Kalashnikovs, four pistols, one rifle and 1.2 kilogram hashish.
The Hangu DSP and SHO vowed to continue strict actions against these anti-state elements.
