CM orders establishment of 5-10-bedded isolation wards to tackle monkey pox

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, has issued directives to the Medical Superintendents of all government run hospitals of the capital for setting up 5-10-bedded isolation wards (male/female) in their respective healthcare facilities to cope up with the challenge of monkeypox virus, said a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Thursday.

“All preventative and precautionary measures and standard operating procedures (SOP) be prepared to face the challenge of monkeypox virus besides establishing 5-to-10-bedded isolation wards for men and women in Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta, Mufti Mehmood Hospital, Kuchlak, Benazir Hospital, Quetta and Fatima Chest and General Hospital, Quetta, said the Chief Minister Balochistan.

Chief Minister Balochistan also directed the provincial health department to provide the essential items required to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta, Mufti Mehmood Hospital, Kuchlak, Benazir Hospital, Quetta and Fatima Chest and General Hospital, Quetta for combating monkeypox virus and ensure maintaining hygiene in those healthcare facilities.
