Mushrooming eateries

According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Pakistan is the country with the third highest number of diabetics. Currently, 33 million people are living with this disease. Indeed, scientific research has proven that dietary habits and diabetes do have a direct correlation.

After much deliberation, the Sindh government had enacted the Sindh Food Authority Act in 2017 which paved the way for the establishment of the Sindh Food Authority (SFA). But after five years of the establishment of the authority, things have not changed one bit.

Substandard eateries have seen an abrupt increase in these years rather than being regulated and prevented by the said authority. The SFA should start doing what it was established to do.
