Another Jolt

Karachi Electric (KE) has suddenly started deducting 8pc withholding tax on the benefit allowed to net metering consumers without mentioning the particular section/clause of the relevant law. Together with the expected reduction in buyback price, and the levy of sales tax on the units consumed, it means solar energy is no more feasible. Besides, the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has served notice to the residents to get their installations regularised by paying charges and penalty. Is it what really the government policy is regarding solar energy?
