ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday invalidated the appointment of Arshad Khan as the chairman of the state-owned Pakistan Television Corporation and independent directors appointed on its board.
Khan was nominated for the post of chairman of the board of directors (BoD) in June last year. The corporation had subsequently selected him for the post.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani announced the verdict in a case against the appointments made in the state broadcaster.
Furthermore, the court approved of the appointments of Chief News Anchor for Current Affairs Qatrina Hussain and Managing Director Amir Manzoor.
The court further ordered that Khan, Rashid Ali Khan and Farmanullah Jan will not be reappointed in any capacity.
