ISLAMABAD: An accountability on Tuesday announced that it would indict former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the Thatta water supply reference, which is an offshoot of the mega fake bank accounts case, on August 4.
The reference accuses the suspects of misusing authority for the illegal award of different contracts to private contractors. The reference was filed in April last year and also nominated 13 other individuals in addition to Zardari.
The accountability court, during the hearing on Tuesday, directed all the accused to reappear on Aug 4.
The reference alleged that some accused persons created fake accounts and purchased plots from ill-gotten money.
