PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Agriculture and Livestock and Fisheries Mohibullah Khan Sunday said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is going through a difficult period and in this difficult time we are all working patiently on the precautionary measures taken by the government.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the KP government have taken timely action to control the pandemic and the government is fully aware of its people which is why it launched the Ehsaas Programme to ensure the assistance of the deserving by putting political affiliations aside.
He said it was Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s vision to ensure assistance to the poor, needy and deserving families Ehsaas Kafalat Programme.
The federal government, he said, was providing all-out assistance to the provinces to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
He said the Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan and all concerned ministers are visiting the affected areas by themselves and ensure availability of facilities to the people at their doorsteps and had already announced Rs32billion relief package apart from the federal government.
He said the government was making efforts to ensure availability of safety gadgets and other necessary medical equipment.
“The entire government machinery and nation stand with the medical community and would provide them with all kinds of supports,” he stressed.
“Under the unprecedented relief programme in the social sector, the government has distributed some Rs144 billion among the poor and deserving families across the country while around 2.2 million poor families identified in KP are getting direct facilitation from the programme,” he said.
Further, he said that around 3,500 cash distribution points have been set up in all 35 districts of KP where proper preventive and precautionary measures were taken.
“The Tiger Force has also been involved in order to ensure that relief is provided at the doorsteps of needy and poor families, which is a clear commitment of the government to serve its people,” he concluded.
