Cantt areas being disinfected

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has launched an anti-coronavirus spray campaign in which the Cantt area is being washed with chlorine mixed water, it was reported on Monday.

According to the RCB spokesman, RCB has completed a campaign in Cantt Ward No.2 and the sanitation staff washed all Mosques of the ward and main roads with chlorine mixed water.

The RCB had finalised arrangements to conduct anti-corona spray in all Cantt areas.

The officials concerned were provided corona kits, face masks, gloves and other items to make the campaign a success.

RCB Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Faisal Munir Wattoo has directed the staff to conduct anti-corona spray in all commercial and residential areas and urged the citizens to stay home which would help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The spokesman informed that leaves of sanitation staff were cancelled to ensure proper cleanliness arrangements during the lockdown.

He also said that a special cell comprising members, Senior Cantonment Engineer Attiq ur Rehman, Senior Medical Officer, Dr Nadia Iqbal, Medical Officer Dr Noreen Iqbal and Public Health Officer, Waris Bhatti was set up on the directive of CEO Sibtain Raza to facilitate the residents in case of any emergency or outbreak in Cantt areas.
