The Sindh government on Monday warned all public and private employers against laying off workers during the provincial lockdown during the novel coronavirus outbreak.
According to a notification issued by the provincial government, workers would not be laid off “during the ban period” and employers would be obliged to pay workers their due salaries, remunerations, and wages.
The notification added that in case the orders were not obeyed, employers would be held guilty on account of breaching Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
