The climax of the winter season is almost at hand. Weather forecasters are of the opinion that a new ‘wave’ of frigidity (cold) is going to batter Pakistan on the 3rd of January. Prospects are that this will mark the climax of the winter season. But the government is yet to make an official announcement on the extension of holidays. It sounds ridiculous that the holidays are coming to an end before the start, you may say, of the zenith of frigidity, frost, heavy rains and cold. The smog phenomenon has already made the masses susceptible to innumerable health issues.

Students going to schools/colleges/universities in this season may worsen the situation, we all know that frightful things happen when the cold penetrates into your flesh and bones. It may result in the outbreak of several health issues like flu, pneumonia, severe lung and nasal infections, cold sours and obviously common colds. Therefore, the government ought to extend the winter holidays.
