KARACHI: A group of lawyers of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday protested against the recent attack on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) at Karachi’s Do Talwar area.
Lawyers were carrying placards and shouted slogans condemning the attack on PIC.
On Wednesday, a mob of lawyers charged at the PIC building in Lahore, harassed the hospital staff, vandalised public property and clashed with authorities. The lawyers also assaulted up Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan during the clash.
According to reports, following the lawyers’ attack, a woman died due to lack of medical attention, while several patients were forced out of the building.
Videos of the incident which were subsequently shared on social media showed police officials, clad in riot gear, rendered helpless as a swarm of lawyers, outnumbering them, broke the entrance of the hospital.
