After a two-day visit to China, Prime Minister Imran Khan will be leaving for Saudi Arabia in the upcoming week to discuss the ongoing Kashmir issue and to work out strategies to ease the prevalent tension in the region, said media reports.
During the visit, the prime minister will hold a meeting with Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
The PM had earlier visited Jeddah before jetting off to the United Nations to attend the UNGA session.
During the visit, he had expressed Pakistan’s resolve to stand with Saudi Arabia “in the event of a threat to its sanctity and security”, a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office said.
He had also briefed King Salman on the current situation in occupied Kashmir. “King Salman reiterated the Kingdom’s solidarity and long-held support on the Kashmir issue,” said the statement issued by the government at that time.
The two leaders discussed relations between the two countries as well as the regional and global political situation.
