ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the federal cabinet today to discuss the proposed tax amnesty scheme and measures to counter rising inflation in the country.
A brief discussion to bring seminaries under the supervision of the education ministry will be held. The PM will also be briefed on the prices of commodities in the meeting.
The cabinet will also discuss the issue of counselor access to the Pakistani inmates stranded in foreign prisons in addition to the proposed formation of anti-narcotics courts in Karachi and Quetta.
The federal cabinet will also discuss to provide tax amnesty on the equipment being imported from China to counter narcotics-related activities.
Earlier, the newly appointed Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Shabbar Zaidi, said that the government is working to bring more individuals into the tax net to improve the economic condition.
