As rumours concerning deal between the Sharifs and the powers-that-be start making rounds in mainstream media, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has undergone a complete revamp.
According to media reports, Maryam has Nawaz become party vice president with former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi becoming the senior vice president of the PML-N. Former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal will be central secretary general of the party in the new reshuffle.
Former defence minister Khawaja Asif will be taking duties as the parliamentary leader in the National Assembly as a result of the recent overhaul while former information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who was already heading the party’s media wing’ will be appointed as the central information secretary of the PML-N.
Former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah will be likely to become the provincial party president while Awais Laghari will be heading party in Punjab as its general secretary.
