KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to allow the cricketers to take along their families to the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be held in England and Wales from May 30.
According to the cricket governing body, however, players will be allowed to take along their spouses during the bilateral series against England, scheduled to be played before the World Cup.
Historically, cricketers have always been allowed to be accompanied by their spouses and children during international tours.
A day earlier, PCB announced its 15-member squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup and dropped out pacer Mohammad Amir – the hero of Pakistan’s previous triumph in an ICC tournament. Left-arm pacer Usman Shinwari, as well as Asif Ali, was missing from the team.
The green team is scheduled to depart for England on Tuesday, April 23.
