KARACHI: At least 35 new dengue fever cases surfaced in Karachi last week, taking the reported cases to 71 since January 1, 2019.
As per the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue in Sindh, as many as 36 new dengue fever cases were reported across the Sindh province in a week out of which 35 were in Karachi and one was in another district.
In January, a total of 74 dengue positive cases were reported across Sindh province, out of which 71 were in Karachi and three were in other districts.
In 2018, a total 2,088 dengue positive cases had been reported across the Sindh while two people had died of the disease in Karachi city.
