38 dengue cases reported in first week of 2019 in Sindh

KARACHI: As many as 36 new dengue fever cases emerged in Karachi in the first week of 2019.

According to the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue (PCPD) in Sindh, at least 38 new dengue fever cases were detected throughout the Sindh province in a week out of the 36 were in Karachi and two were in other districts.

In January, a total of 38 dengue positive cases were detected from January 1 to January 7, 2019, across Sindh province.

In 2018, a total 2,088 dengue positive cases had been reported across the Sindh province while two people had died of dengue in Karachi city in last year.
