KP to refurbish sacred Buddhist sites in tribal areas

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to restore and preserve historical Buddhist and British sites in the tribal areas.

This announcement was made by Senior Minister for Tourism, Archeology, Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Atif Khan during his visit to the province. He also revealed that the Safari train will once again be functional till the Torkham border.

The senior minister asserted that there are more than a thousand sacred Buddhist sites in these areas with a hundred in Jamrud only. A survey is to be conducted to mark all sites to be given heritage status.
