Nasrullah Khan Chaudhry, a senior journalist associated with the newspaper Nai Baat was allegedly detained by law enforcement agencies during a raid on his home, according to Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ-Dastoor), a local media outlet reported.
Chaudhry’s whereabouts are currently unknown, the PFUJ said.
An emergency meeting of PFUJ was held at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) over the incident, with participants expressing concern of Chaudhry’s disappearance, calling it an attack on media freedom.
The meeting also called on concerned authorities to take notice of the incident and to release Chaudhry.
