LAHORE: A newborn girl was abducted from Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital at 9 pm on Wednesday night.
Born to Nadeem and his wife, residents of Kot Lakhpat at 2 pm on Wednesday, the infant was in the room with her mother and grandmother when a veiled woman came to take the child for routine vaccination but never returned, the police report stated.
Jinnah Hospital medical superintendent constituted a three-member team to investigate the incident.
After viewing footage from CCTV and Safe City cameras, police took a local rickshaw driver into custody who had allegedly dropped off the woman at Daroghawala and returned to the hospital.
According to police, the rickshaw driver also works as a guard at the hospital.
