RAWALPINDI: An eight-year-old boy suffered grave injuries after Indian troops fired on civilian areas in the Chirikot Sector on Sunday, a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The boy was taken to hospital for medical care.

The ISPR statement added that Pakistani forces returned fire on the Indian post responsible for the attack.

Earlier this week, a man was also injured due to unprovoked firing by Indian troops in the Sialkot sector.
