Capt (r) Safdar, Hanif Abbasi to remain hospitalised for next few days

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslin League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, captain (r) Safdar and Hanif Abbasi, underwent successful angioplasties recently and the decision regarding moving them back to Adiala Jail will be made in a couple of days.

Both leaders had stents put in their hearts due to arterial blockages.

Doctors concerned have advised that the patients stay under medical supervision at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology for a couple of days.

Their conditions will be assessed after two to three days, after which the doctors will decide whether they are fit to go back to the jail.

Abbasi has been jailed in the ephedrine supply case while Captain (r) Safdar has been sentenced to one year following the Avenfield case verdict.

On the other hand, Abbasi’s family has claimed that they are not being allowed to meet him at the hospital.
