Differences appear in PML-N after election defeat

PESHAWAR: Differences between senior members of the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have emerged after the party’s defeat in the recently conducted elections, a local media outlet reported on Sunday.

Activists and senior leaders are also opposed to regional president Amir Muqaam, who they say is supported by captain (r) Safdar and Murtaza Javaid Abbasi, adding that party tickets were not distributed on merit.

They said that Muqaam made decisions without considering the opinions of the provincial council.

PML-N provincial spokesman Ikhtiar Wali said that those who were criticising were taking advantage of the defeat. He added that the tickets were awarded on merit.
