RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and a senator were not allowed to meet convicted former prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz by Adiala jail authorities.

Senator Nuzhat Sadiq visited Adiala jail to meet Nawaz and his daughter but was told that she could meet the convicted PM on Thursday.

Moreover, a group of lawyers from Rawalpindi associated with the PML-N also visited the jail to meet their leader but were denied entry following which they held a protest outside the jail.

furthermore, the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Vice Chairman Kamran Murtaza sent a letter to the accountability court registrar and Adiala jail superintendent seeking permission to meet with Nawaz on Wednesday.

The authorities concerned granted permission which extended to a five-member delegation of the bar to meet with the PML-N supremo on Thursday.
