RAWALPINDI: Election campaign of candidates from different political parties is gradually gaining momentum in the form of public gatherings and corner meetings.
The candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) and Awami Muslim League (AML) and independents have set up their election offices in various localities and started holding corner meetings.
PML-N candidate from NA-62 Danyal Chaudary addressing a corner meeting at Bagh Sardaran said that the return of PML-N supremo and his daughter Maryum Nawaz have brought a positive wave in the election campaign.
He urged the party activists to initiate a comprehensive door-to-door campaign in order to seek votes of the public. He said that during PML-N tenure, Pakistan had overcome terrorism and power load -shedding.
Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed in a corner meeting at Kataria said that the AML and PTI had played the role of real opposition during the last government and exposed the wrongdoings of the rulers and their cronies.
He was of the view that the AML and PTI, if voted into power, would spare no looters of the national exchequer from any party and hold them accountable.
He hoped that the PTI, under the leadership of Imran Khan, would form a new corruption-free Pakistan, based on equality, justice and merit.
Meanwhile, PPP female ticket holder for NA-62 Sumera Gul inaugurated her central election office here at Saidpur road.
Addressing the public gathering, she appealed to the participants to join hands with Bilawal for the betterment of the country.
PML-N and Sheikh Rasheed had done nothing for the welfare of the people, adding the city was facing the worst water crises, she added.
Sumera appealed the people to vote for “Teer” as PPP is the only party who always voiced for the rights of masses at every platform adding after winning the election she would be resolved the issues of water and sewerage.
