RAHIM YAR KHAN: A woman was killed by a man in public in Rahim Yar Khan on Monday night after she reportedly refused a marriage proposal.
The woman, named Shamim, was a nurse at Shiekh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan and was a relative of the suspect Muneer Ahmed.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Ahmed forcefully trying to stop her on a road which results in a tussle between the two. The footage shows Shamim running away but is chased and grabbed by the suspect. According to the clip, a number of motorbike riders pause for a moment but then continue to drive past the scene without offering any help.
Ahmed then stabs her with a knife and flees the scene, leaving her to bleed to death.
A case has been registered by the police and investigation is currently underway.
Last month, an 18-year-old bus hostess who worked with Kohistan travels was shot to death in Faisalabad by a man she had repeatedly refused to marry.
