76 candidates expected to contest for Islamabad’s three NA seats

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved 76 candidates to contest for the three National Assembly seats from Islamabad.

NA-53 has the highest number of candidates at 36, according to ECP data.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Abdul Hafeez Tipu are set to contest for the seat.

On the other hand, NA-54 will see 28 candidates contest for the seat while Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) Afzal Khokhar and PTI’s Raja Khurram Nawaz will contest for the NA-52 seat.

The final list of candidates participating in the general elections and their election symbols would be released by the ECP today.
