IHC issues notice in Zulfi Bukhari’s name removal case

ISLAMABAD: A notice was issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on a petition pertaining to the removal of Zulfikar Bukhari’s name from the blacklist/Exit Control List (ECL).

The petition was filed by Mohammad Kausar while Justice Aamer Farooq presided over the case.

Kausar’s counsel, Inamur Rahim, claimed that Bukhari’s name was on the ECL but he was still allowed to leave the country and go to Saudi Arabia.

Justice Farooq said that Bukhari had also filed an appeal that sought the removal of his name from the list and the court had already summoned an Interior Ministry section officer in this regard.

The petitioner also asked whether a name on the ECL could be removed by an officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) if it had been placed there on the orders of the Supreme Court (SC).
