A freight train on its way from Punjab derailed in Sukkur, flipped upside down on Saturday. The train had a total of 23 interconnected compartments.
Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) told a local media outlet that rescue teams have been called to the incident site. The traffic will be resumed in four to five hours, he added.
According to media reports, Pakistan witnessed a 188% decrease in train accidents in 2017 as compared to the previous year.
