Increasing number of women judges in superior judiciary demanded

KARACHI: A Non-Governmental Organisation The Justice Helpline, in collaboration with other associations on Thursday organised first ‘Women Law Conference’ here at Arts Council.

Addressing on the occasion, the Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmed said that women were playing a very important role in the society and urged them, especially young girls, to educate themselves and work for the betterment of the society.

The SHC former judge Justice (r) Majida Rizvi on the occasion demanded that the number of female judges should be increased in the higher and superior judiciary.

She said there is a fair representation of women judges in the lower courts. She demanded that women judges should also be inducted in the High Courts and the Supreme Court.
