–Anwar appears before JIT, says ‘five team member’ involved in Naqeeb’s murder
Former Malir Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar on Friday appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to probe the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud in an alleged fake encounter.
He recorded his initial statement before the JIT and said that five members of his team were involved in the incident and alleged that some officers of Sindh police were conspiring against him.
According to media reports, the JIT team visited a hotel in Sohrab Goth and were told by the employees of the hotel that Sindh police officer Akbar Mallah had come to arrest Naqeebullah team, adding that Rao Anwar had not accompanied them.
