SC declines to stay SJC proceedings against LHC judge: report

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) declined to stay proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Lahore High Court (LHC) judge, reported a local English newspaper.

The top court, however, expressed the confidence that SJC would not take any decision that might affect the current petitions seeking the open trial.

Senior lawyer Hamid Khan representing Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan and Justice Shaukat Azizi of Islamabad High Court (IHC) filed the request for staying SJC hearing.
