GUJRANWALA: Around four people were injured as members of a wedding party opened fire in celebration in the Rohali area of the city.
Rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the injured to the nearby District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Gujranwala. The injured were not instantly identified.
Police detained at least six people including the bridegroom for opening fire for the celebration.
Raids are being carried out to arrest others who fled the venue after arrival of police, said the city police officer (CPO) Gujranwala.
Aerial gunfire has resurfaced as a popular celebration custom at Pakistani weddings in recent years, after being dormant for some time.
