LAHORE: An FIR [First Information Report] was lodged at the Nawab Town Police Station in Lahore on Saturday night over alleged molestation of a child.
The victim said that he refrained from lodging an official complaint with the police because he feared negative repercussions. The boy chose to stay silent for over a year.
The FIR was registered after an inquiry report, which was finalised after a request submitted by three boys of the same madrassa, said the police.
There had been a protest earlier against the police for delaying the registration of the FIR. Unidentified reports on social media claim the alleged perpetrator had abused over a 100 boys.
