GILGIT: A man and a woman were killed in the name of honour in New Nagaral area of Gilgit on Sunday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Jutial police station Zahoor Ahmed, accused Tanveer Abbas opened fire on his sister and a 23-year-old youth, Adeeb Hussain, residents of Khumar area, over suspicious relations between them. As result, they suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot.
SHO further said that the police had arrested the brother of the woman on the charge of the double murder, along with a TT pistol. He claimed that the accused had confessed to the crime.
The bodies were handed over to the families after medico-legal formalities.
