Talal denies speaking against judges, courts

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Friday denied speaking against the judges or courts during public meetings and media talks.

“I neither made any person-specific remarks nor criticised any judges during public meetings or media talks,” he said while speaking to a private news channel.

“The court has sent me a contempt notice and I will face the court according to the law regarding the notice,” said the federal minister.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) only expressed reservations over the court’s decision regarding the matter of former prime minister’s disqualification, said Talal and added that the PML-N had struggled for the restoration of judiciary.

“My speeches were misreported before the apex court,” he said.

Replying to a question about tendering an apology before the court in the contempt case, he said that he would decide that after consulting his lawyer.
