ANP chief criticises Fazl, Achakzai for opposing KP-FATA merger

HARNAI: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali on Friday criticised his political peers for opposing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and FATA’s merger.

“Only Jamaat-e-Ullema Islam-Fazl chief, Fazlur Rehman and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief, Mehmood Khan Achakzai oppose the merger,” lamented Wali lamented during his address at a rally here.

“Why are those who chant slogans about creating a Pashtun state stretching from Bolan to Chitral oppose the merger,” asked the ANP chief.

Wali denounced Achakzai for changing NWFP’s name  to KP saying that he managed to do so by forming an alliance

with the party in the centre and furthermore, he (Achakzai) used his connections with PML-N to make his brother the Balochistan’s governor.

The ANP chief concluded by pledging his services to maintain constitutional supremacy, rule of law, as well as, rights of Pashtoons.
