ISLAMABAD: The federal government is all set to announce a new policy for the mainstreaming of religious seminaries soon, reported a local English daily.
This was decided on Monday in a meeting held by the National Security Advisor Lt Gen (r) Nasser Khan Janjua in order to review the progress of the madrasa reforms.
Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, members of Ittehad Tanzeemat-e-Madaris Pakistan Mufti Munibur Rehman, Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, Muhammad Yasir Zafar, Maulana Abdul Malik, Maulana Niyaz Hussain Naqvi and senior officials of Higher Education were among some of the attendees of the meeting.
In October last year, the federal government, Wafaqul Madaris and Ittehad Tanzeemat-e-Madaris had unanimously agreed upon revising curriculum for religious seminaries.
