ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Chaudhry on Wednesday said the country had achieved unprecedented success in the war on terror.
“We have taken action against anti-Pakistan forces,” he said while talking to a state-run television.
Commenting on the Afghan issue, Aizaz said that there should be a political solution to the Afghanistan situation.
“Using military is not the option for resolving the Afghan issue, where most of the territory is not under the control of the government,” he added.
Aizaz said Pakistan was a sovereign country and hostile statements by the United States against a sovereign state would not help achieve goals and targets against terrorism.
However, he added, it was imperative to maintain relations with the US. Both the countries had expectations from each other, and they should maintain good relations for achieving the targets, Aizaz concluded.
