A spokesman of the Punjab government has termed the negative propaganda of certain circles with regard to visit of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia as baseless, condemnable and spiteful.
In a statement on Monday, the spokesman said that this propaganda is being done by those elements who could not even refrain from damaging national and international interests of Pakistan for the sake of achieving their cheap political benefits.
Saudi Arabia was a benefactor country and it was an honour to invite the chief minister of the largest province of Pakistan by sending a special plane and criticising the Saudi government or the Punjab chief minister was equivalent to betraying the national interests of Pakistan.
The governments as well as the people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were conjoined twins which were interconnected in the brotherly relations and unbreakable bonds of friendship and no baseless propaganda of any kind could weaken them, concluded the spokesperson.
