LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday said that the party has no objections to ally with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for national betterment.
He said this after appearing before an accountability court hearing a graft case against him. The former prime minister said that attacking state institutions is tantamount to weakening the state and that PPP has never attacked the Supreme Court.
He also said that he wishes for the next general elections to be held on time, adding that the PPP is not affected by anyone’s disqualification, hinting at Friday’s disqualification of PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen.
The former prime minister also criticised the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, saying that the government, let alone its functioning, is not visible to him.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said on many an occasion that he would never consider siding with the “corrupt” PPP chief Asif Ali Zardari.
