Tariq urges parties to make efforts for passage of delimitation bill

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday urged all parliamentary parties to play their due role for passing delimitation bill from the Senate to ensure holding of general elections on time.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government was making all-out efforts to resolve the matter at the earliest, he said while talking during a programme on a private news channel.

He said that all parties, including PML-N, shared equal responsibility to make efforts in support of the bill to ensure that elections would be held on time.

The minister also said the PML-N had been addressing reservations of the political parties, including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), regarding the bill and would continue doing so in the larger interest of the country.

He said the prime minister had also called a meeting of the leaders of parliamentary parties to discuss the issue and resolve it with the consensus.
